Shiksha Saptah Celebration


Observance of SHIKSHA SAPTAH
Jai Vatika Public School Barnala celebrated Shiksha Saptah from 22nd July to 28th of July with a plethora of activities that encouraged creativity , critical thinking , and learning through fun!

Day 1- TLM DAY
Theme of the celebrations was to showcase and utilize innovative Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs) to enhance the learning experience.
Activities:
1. Thumb and hand painting : Our tiny tots created masterpieces using their thumbs and hands.
2. Card and mask making : Students showcased their creativity by designing masks and cards.
3. Puppet making : Students created their own puppets, learning about storytelling through puppetry.
4.Creating Ludo games: Students designed their own Ludo boards, learning about strategy and teamwork.
5. Making puzzles : Critical thinking and problem-solving skills were put to the test.
6. TLM Exhibition: A vibrant exhibition of various TLMs, including charts, models, puppets and interactive displays and students' creations of the day, was set up.
7. Teacher Presentations: Teachers presented their innovative TLMs, explaining their creation and usage in the classrooms.
8. Workshop: A workshop was conducted to train teachers on creating effective TLMs.
Our students, teachers, and staff came together to make this day a grand success.
The day enhanced awareness about the importance of TLMs in teaching-learning processes, encouraged innovation and creativity among teachers and students. and Fostered a collaborative environment for sharing best practices.

Day 2: Storytelling and Puppetry
Jadui Pitara (Magic Box) creations : Students designed their own magic boxes, encouraging creativity and innovation.
Reading session : Our students indulged in a reading marathon, exploring new worlds and characters
Screening of educational films : Students learned about important social and environmental issues.

Day 3: Sports Day
Various indigenous games : Our students played traditional games, learning about our rich cultural heritage.

Day 4: Cultural Day
Puppet show : Our students enjoyed a captivating puppet show, learning through entertainment.
Nukkad Natak (Street Play) : Students performed a thought-provoking street play, spreading awareness about social issues.

Day 5: Skilling and Digital Initiative
Visit to nursery and veterinary hospital : Our students learned about responsibility and compassion.
AI Workshop - Vatikans added to their knowledge by learning more about AI technology.

Day 6: Eco Clubs for Mission Life/ School Nutrition Day
Plantation drive : We planted trees and saplings, contributing to a greener tomorrow.
Shiksha Saptah was a resounding success, thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of our students, teachers, and staff. We believe that education should be an enjoyable experience , and this celebration was a testament to that.

Teej Celebration

The festival of Teej celebrates the bounty of nature, arrival of rains and greenery surrounded by social activities, rituals and customs. Students of Jai Vatika Public School celebrated Haryali Teej with great joy and fervour on the school campus. Kids came dressed in traditional Punjabi dresses. The campus was decorated with swings and items related to Teej. A giddha performance was also given by girls. Addressing the kids, teachers briefed about the importance of the day and mentioned that Teej was primarily a festival celebrated by girls and women with songs and dances mainly in the northern and western parts of India. Tiny tots participated whole-heartedly in the fun-filled function. The Punjabi boliyan were presented by little vatikans. Traditional dances, bhangra and giddha were performed by boys and girls. World Earth Day Celebration at JVPS

 "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children." Going with the adage World Earth Day was celebrated on 22 April,2022 at Jai Vatika Public School, Barnala with a special assembly on the school premises by Legend House Students. Main attraction of the assembly were Dance Performance, Role Play, Poetry Recitation, Speech. On the occasion of World Earth Day children participated in creative activities like: clay modelling for kindergarten, Sapling Plantation for class 1-2,6-7,  Slogan Writing for class 3-5, Poster Making for class 8, Speech Competition for class 9-12 for displaying their artistic and linguistic skills while showcasing their awareness about conserving natural resources. Experiential learning - Yellow colour

Tiny tots love colours and they especially love learning about the bright ones. Kindergarten tiny tots learnt yellow colour in their activity "Yummy Yellow" . The children would aware about yellow colour and its significance was the motive of this activity. yellow in Hinduism is the colour of Lord vishnu, the color of purity and victory .Students made a 'Yummy Mango' with the help of yellow sheet. They also showed different yellow colour objects. The students enjoyed activity a lot and they also learnt about the yellow colour through activity.
